A number of phone deception calls claiming to be from an electric power company have been received today in Choshi City.
The contents are:
・ You have not paid the electricity bill.
・ If this situation continues, your electricity will be cut off

This will be a "phone de scam" technique.

The best way to avoid being deceived is not to talk to the perpetrator.
To avoid talking to the perpetrator, set your phone to go to voicemail even when you are home, and listen to the message before deciding whether to answer the phone.

If you receive a suspicious call, please call 110 or Choshi Police Station （ 0479-23-0110 ）.
Also, please alert your neighbors and other elderly people you know.
